What is your customised services? It's very simple. You get the services you need for your project because not everyone requires a full service. Some clients just need us to measure and create a drawing for their existing warehouse. Others may need us to visualise their new bathroom. For example, one of our clients' daughters, she is a final-year interior design student needed assistance in producing a construction drawing and joinery details.
-
What is the process for starting a new project with you?The process starts with receiving a client enquiry and creating a project brief to ensure we're on the same page. Then, we send you a quote. If the quote looks good to you, we proceed by signing a contract (for full service or first-time clients with a large project). After that, we collaborate on the project to meet your requirements, and finally, we deliver the completed work along with an invoice. See Our Process for more details.
-
How long does a typical project take from start to finish? The timeline varies depending on the project's complexity and scope. For full-service projects, it typically takes from 10 to 14 weeks from the final concept design, depending on the size of the project, potential issues on site, and suppliers' lead times. Customised or partial services can take from a day to 8 weeks, depending on the task. We will inform you of the project milestones in the client brief to ensure you are okay with it.
-
How soon can we start after accepting the quote?Once the quote is accepted and the agreement is signed or contract (if needed), we begin with the project or task.
-
How are your fees structured?Fees are structured based on the scope of work and the type of service requested. We calculate our fees by estimating the time required for the project or based on its complexity, depending on which method is more appropriate. We provide detailed quotes outlining the costs for each phase of the project. Please note that some requests may incur additional service charges. For example: 1. Concept design: If you don't provide an existing plan, we need to include on-site measurement in the quote. 2. Rendering: We will include the cost of a Complexed 3D model or an Advanced model service as an addition to the rendering service. 3. Publishing in branding design service: If you require actual product photos on your brochure or website, we may need to add on-site photography fees.
-
Are there any additional costs that might arise during the project? For customised services, we usually stick to the fee agreed upon in the accepted quote. However, additional costs might come up if there are changes to the scope of work during the design process or any extra requests. We’ll always communicate and agree on any extra costs before going ahead. For full-service projects, we offer a package that should cover most additional requests during the design process. However, we don't take responsibility for construction costs that might arise during the build, such as unforeseen structural issues, changes in design after construction has started, or site damage without a responsible party.
-
What payment methods do you accept? At this time, we only accept bank transfers as a payment method. Details will be provided in the quote and contract.
-
What qualifications do your team members have? Our team consists of talented graduate architects who have completed a Master of Architecture from Curtin University and interior designers who have completed an Advanced Diploma of Interior Design, with over 7 years of construction management experience. Even though we're qualified in architecture, we’re also great at interior design (and graphic design too).
-
How can I get in touch with you?You can contact us via email, phone, or through our website's contact form. We will respond promptly to discuss your project needs.
-
Why are our rates so competitive compared to others? We’re a team of graduate designers starting our own small design business. While we deliver excellent work comparable to that of seasoned professionals, we’re keen to gain more direct experience with clients and build up our portfolio. This allows us to offer design services at more affordable rates.
-
What should I prepare before our initial consultation? It's helpful to have a clear idea of your project's scope, any specific design preferences, your budget, and any questions you may have for us.
-
How much does a design consultation cost?We don't charge for design consultations. If you're unsure about your layout plan or tile colours, just message us. We're happy to help you sort out your design issues at no cost.
-
What is the difference between 'Design consultation' and 'Design consultant'?1. A design consultation is a service where we help you with specific design issues or uncertainties about your project steps, such as a makeover or choosing tile colours. 2. A design consultant, on the other hand, is an assistant service to helps you guide your project smoothly from start to finish. This service doesn't just focus on the design aspect but also on the overall project. For example, if you're running the project yourself, you might face issues with materials, costs, project management, or organising contractors. A design consultant assists with all these aspects.
-
How do I know if my project requires structural changes?Structural changes are necessary if you plan to alter load-bearing walls, increase the size of openings, add new floors, or make significant changes to the building's framework. A structural engineer can provide a detailed assessment.
-
What file types will you hand over for drafting services? We can deliver a variety of design program file types. Generally, we provide PDF files as a standard service. If you require the original CAD files, we can provide you with .dwg files. For 3D models, we can deliver .skp or .rtv files.
-
What is difference between a 3D model and Rendering?A 3D model is a tool that helps us visualise the project's dimensions and spaces. Rendering, on the other hand, is an advanced process that calculates lighting, material surfaces, and reflections to create a realistic image of what the project will look like once it is built. If you're planning your own project, a 3D model is a very handy tool. But if you are going to sell the project, such as creating a proposal or you need a real estate sales material, rendering is the way to go.
-
What are some common issues that can arise during interior construction?Common issues include delays due to unforeseen structural problems, budget overruns, difficulty in sourcing materials, and coordinating schedules among various contractors.
-
How do I ensure my project stays on schedule and within budget?Regularly communicate with us or your designers and construction team, set realistic deadlines, and monitor progress closely. Be prepared for contingencies and keep a buffer in your budget for unexpected expenses because things may happen.
